Fragments of a Changing Land
I come from the southwest of Iran, a land where the intense heat of the sun, the smell of oil and gas, and the dust rising from the earth have become inseparable from my memories.
These memories are not simply images of a place I once knew. They continue to live within me, changing and transforming over time.
In my collage and mixed-media works, I bring together fragments of human figures, animals, industrial structures, and architectural spaces. They overlap, interrupt, and sometimes dissolve into one another, creating a world in which memory and imagination coexist.
Women occupy an important place in these compositions. Their bodies, gestures, and expressions carry stories of everyday life, vulnerability, endurance, and transformation. Around them, industrial landscapes merge with elements of nature, suggesting the complicated relationship between human life and a changing environment.
I am interested in the instability of time and the way memories refuse to remain fixed. Through fragmentation, shifting perspectives, and unexpected encounters between images, I create spaces where past and present are no longer separate.
My paintings do not attempt to recreate my homeland as it was. Rather, they emerge from what remains of it within me — fragments of a changing land, continually reconstructed through memory.
